Run to the Sun (N*E*R*D)

Planet with 2 Suns

What George Lucas imagined in the 1977 film Star Wars wasn’t too far-fetched after all. More than three decades later, NASA has announced the discovery of Kepler-16b, a planet that orbits two stars, just like Tatooine did in Star Wars. The Saturn-sized planet is around 200 light-years from Earth and circles two stars about every 229 days. The stars themselves orbit each other every 41 days, “causing brightness dips.”For someone standing on the planet’s surface, one of the suns would appear orange and the other red.The suns also change positions and movement in relationship to each other. This means no two sunsets are the same. Sometimes the red start will go down first, sometimes the orange star…sometimes they’re far apart & sometimes they’ll be eclipsed

NASA Discovers 5 New Earth-Like Planets! Maybe...

NASA's Kepler observatory had discovered five Earth-like planets that could support life.
The new planets were located using theHigh Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher (HARPS) at the European Southern Observatory‘s (ESO) La Silla Observatory in Chile.

These planets will be among the best targets for future space telescopes to look for signs of life in the planet’s atmosphere by looking for chemical signatures such as oxygen.

And again...and again...
